Chefchaouen, Morocco | | Florence, Italy | | Abu Dhabi, UAE | | Jaipur, India | | Lucerne, Switzerland | | Vienna, Austria
This city is an absolute delight to visitors because of the unique scenery: this is an all-blue town! Depending on who you ask, the explanation for the blue paint all over the city is either going to be that Jewish refugees decorated everything like this as a mosquito repellent or to symbolize heaven. No one knows exactly who is right regarding their motives, but "The Blue Pearl" is definitely a calming respite from the other chaotic Moroccan cities, Marrakech and Fez, and a visit here might make you think of heaven. The tradition is kept alive here, as the houses are washed with a new coat of blue paint every year.
Museum, cathedrals, churches, imposing towers, palaces, old city halls, all of these await you in one of Europe's greatest art cities. The cultural inheritance is indeed impressive. The Florence Cathedral (also known as Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore/ "Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flowers"/ Il Duomo di Firenze ) is the main church of Florence, one of Italy's largest churches and the largest brick dome ever constructed, and an amazing work of art that will take your breath away.
Abu Dhabi, UAE
If you're imagining a luxurious place, you definitely have the United Arab Emirates in mind. Abu Dhabi, the wealthiest of the seven oil-rich states that make up the UAE is one of the most wonderful cities you can choose for your next vacation. Mega-malls, artificial ski slopes, incredibly luxurious hotels, extravagance and many tourist attractions that will leave you speechless await for you in this Arab wonderland.
Also known as "The Pink City", Jaipur is the capital and the largest city in terms of population of Rajasthan, a state in Northern India. This city is a great place to go if you want to discover India's culture and if you are a big fan of hand crafted souvenirs, since artisanry is a very common and mundane thing here. This city has 3 gates facing east, west and north and numerous attractions, such as the Hawa Mahal palace complex, with its gardens and the small lake.
You've seen those generic pictures of Switzerland online; everything looks so serene and beautiful, like this would be the perfect place to strengthen your relationship with nature and achieve the most peaceful state of mind. Well, maybe not all of Switzerland is like this, but Lucerne is definitely close. Nestled on the shores of Lake Lucerne, this town is worth a visit or two anytime. The Swiss Alps are visible from the town and walking the Kapellbrücke, the oldest covered bridge in Europe is "a must".
Artistic, exquisite, and largely shaped by its musical and intellectual foundations, Austria's capital and largest city is packed with culture. One of the most interesting facts is that 68% of Austria has an altitude of over 500m, which is why it is the perfect place for winters sports. There are also over 90 Michelin restaurants in Austria, most of them in Vienna and Salzburg. Both old and new, Vienna has a large variety of landmarks, from Baroque buildings to modern style architecture. For example, the Schönbrunn Palace, with an unbelievable number of 1440 rooms, is one of the most visited sights in Austria.
